05 Jun 2011 June and the sun are finally here!

Life has been rolling along rain or shine, here in Chilliwack it has been mostly rain. This weekend is a fabulous sunny weekend. I spent yesterday helping a friend launch her new business and drove to North Shore Vancouver all by myself. I know, that sounds very silly, but for me it was a milestone to over come. I did it!

Today we are back to Vancouver for my sons La Crosse teams game. It is a great day for a drive and possibly some fish and chips followed by an ice cream to celebrate. Weekends are extremely busy for us right now. It is so hard to imagine free time. LOL. However, we are enjoying the moments and treasuring the adventure.

I have been very busy with my digital scrapping. I love how fast and easy it is. We were killing a few minutes last night before taking our daughter to see the new Xmen movie(by the way we liked it!)  I logged in to me HM account and viola 15 minutes later I had a scrap page done for a facebook contest and with no mess and no clean up! Completely no fuss! There is never been a minute were I have missed the old version. I am thrilled with all my projects and constantly have ideas for more!

Check out all the great new products for yourself today:

The time is sure flying by this year. I may not be keeping up to date on this blog but I have been keeping up with my scrapbooking challenge. Heritage Makers is my answer to my photo problem. I love my HM. I publish monthly and I can create keepsakes while watching a movie with my family. I am never in a room by myself anymore and I do not have tons of product to pull out and put away later. When I go to crops now I just need my laptop. Funny too when my friend Niki and I go to our weekend retreats we only need my Rav now instead of her big Avalanche…we take our over night bags, snacks, and the laptop. It is crazy simple and so very relaxing now. There is no stress for us anymore. We are up to date and loving it. Come join the fun anytime at www.heartfilledtreasures.com.

In February I went to Regionals in Calgary for training with Heritage Makers. What a great experience. I have never really been far from my Husband as we are high school sweethearts. He has always encouraged me in my growth as an individual so of course he said if you want to go you should go! I had such an exciting time just knowing I could travel somewhere all on my own. It was great to bond with these other females that love Heritage Makers and be inspired by their stories. I enjoyed the weekend so very much.

March brought a really good time for our family as we ventured back to Disneyland for Spring Break. I loved it. We all loved it!  Our family needed to go have some fun together and what better place then the magic of Anaheim. The sun was a nice treat from all the rain we have had here back  in the Wack this winter(not complaining it can always be worse). But that Vitamin D does so much for the soul. :) It was a fantastic time and we meet many friends and neighbours out that way too. Our family has already started saving for the next Finnigan Adventure.

I found some fabulous information on the web for tips for Disneyland here are some of the links for you:

If you google the Ultimate Packing Guide there are some fabulous check lists you can download to make packing for your vacation a little smoother.

Yes, back to the grind and back to PriceSmart I went. We are coming into some busy times with volunteer work  and event functions. So busy we are at the store. I love the variety I get at my job and it is great to work with such wonderful people. I feel very blessed and appreciated everyday.

Well that is my update for today…thanks for stopping by!

15 Feb 2011 Update from the couch…

The year sure took off with a shot for me. It has been an incredible ride so far. I started the year out being a part of planning a very special retirement party for a co-worker. It was such a wonderful event and it was so nice to see him so happy with his send off. There is nothing like celebrating is there?

It is very hard to believe we are halfway through February. February turned out to be so much fun so far!I was honored at PriceSmart as Personal Achiever of the year for 2010. It was a big surprise and I was so touched by all the kind words my work family had to share with me. It is definitely a high for this year.We celebrated a special valentines day breakfast with the kids. They came up to the kitchen to find a decorated table. The table was filled with paper hearts, smarties, a gift with a Mickey Mouse shaped countdown…that’s right we told the kids this year we will spend Spring break in Disneyland. So exciting. Or as my Jessie said ‘amazing, awesome’. I am so looking forward to this family trip. It is nice to schedule play time with your family, a little Mr. sun doesn’t hurt either. :)

Now if that wasn’t fun enough I am off to my weekend at The Falls resort with the girls this week. It is always nice to schedule a little ‘me’ time. My hubby has always encouraged me to take that time for myself. He rocks. The girls and I have a challenge for the weekend as well. We planned the menu around all our diets. That is right, around losing weight. Yes, we will have a treat and a cocktail or two but no binging all weekend long. It is very exciting to all support each other in our life changing eating habits. It has been a great 2011 for Andie and I with our weight lose. Choosing to eat better for us and getting rid of fast food on the run has helped us lose over 14 pounds each. With us my mother and best friend have joined the bandwagon and lost 10 and 20+ too. It is amazing what a little support can do for motivation. Keep it up team!

February will end with a bang for me as I join my fellow Heritage Maker consultant and friend Michelle to a weekend trip to Calgary, Alberta. We are off to HM Regionals for some great business building and friend bonding. I am very excited to meet the friends I have made online. I look forward to meeting some of the people who have started and run this company. I have wanted to be a part of the scrapbooking world for a long time and I am enjoying my digital storybooking business journey. I will fill you all in when I get back.

I am very happy with my scrapping this year so far. I have completed projects I have wanted to do for a very long time. So far this year I created pages for my kids school books, pages to keep me up to date, valentines gifts, cards, birthday invitations for Derek’s upcoming birthday, a flip book for Derek from our Legoland trip and so much more! That is right, that much and more. Heritage Makers just makes it so easy and time effective for me!

21 Dec 2010 My quote for today
 |  Category: My Thoughts  | Leave a Comment

As we see shoppers frantically shopping for those last minute gifts and filling their carts full of groceries for all those Christmas dinners, I was reminded of some of the basics of enjoying the holiday season. I have 3 families. My mom and her family, my dad and his family and my husbands family. Our Christmas’ are always big and filled with the most amazing dinners and many laughs around tables each day, each year. Our blessings have truly been much. This week I had the privilege of co-ordinating the adopt a family for out store and we chose a large family since we have a large group of team members. It was incredible to see people come together and spread their blessings to this family. The food, gifts and treats will help this family enjoy their holiday season too. When we delivered the food hamper to the local Salvation Army it was great to see the full gym and how our community always comes together in times of need.

This experience has left me with these two quotes of the day for you:

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.  ~W.T. Ellis

Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.  ~Washington Irving

May your blessings be many this holiday season. A wish from my heart to yours.

13 Dec 2010 2 weeks till Christmas…wow!

I can not believe it has been a whole month since I wrote a blog entry. So much has happened. The kids have settled wonderfully into this school year. Derek is loves being a intermediate student and Jessica thinks middle school ‘rocks’. I just do not know where the time has gone. Andie has been busy with new ventures and we are all enjoying him home more. His new work situation is allowing for a much easier family schedule. I am feeling all the pressure I have had for awhile, just melt away. It is nice to not have to juggle so much and to have things work smoothly.

This past month I assisted once again in co-ordinating/hosting our annual service awards for my store. It is always a great event and it was once again a huge success. It keeps us very busy but it is so worth it.

Halloween was a great weekend. Jessica joined her BFF at the Church Youth Groups all niter. She has a wonderful youth leader. It was very hard for mom to let her venture into this next step of her life but the trip home at 7am and all the children’s laughter from a wonderful evening, well somehow made it easier.  We then joined our Elementary School Fundraiser Magic Show. That was a great time. Derek loved it. Halloween day brought trick or treating with the cousins, and mommy got hot chocolate and baileys. Mmmm. So much joy this month and so many digi-pages to do. The best part is I have either started or finished them!

Now on to Novemeber. It is going to be another busy month, but it starts off with a bang. My annual weekend at The Falls Resort with the girls. I am so excited. Just some good laughs, creating our scrap pages or storybooks, too much food and a few drinks in the hot tub. Oh and don’t forget the annual watching of Russel Peters! Oh how we laugh! This year is going to be even nicer as I am bringing some food, some wine, an over night bag and my lap top! Thank-you Heritage Makers. No more truck load of supplies. It is so fantastic. Stay tuned for the report on the weekend adventure…

The rest of the month brings  a trip to see the new Harry Potter with my BFF, a 50th birthday party, some Christmas shopping, a pub night fundraiser and some family game nights. The year is going so fast…it will be Christmas before we know it!

Well that’s all tonight. See you next time.

06 Oct 2010 Thanksgiving fun
 |  Category: My Thoughts  | Leave a Comment

Just a quick note this morning over a warm cup of coffee. It is so wonderful to be coming into Thanksgiving weekend. My family is so looking forward to master chef, or brother Duane, and his cooking adventure. he will be cooking his first turkey for my mom and Marty, baba, and us Finnigan’s. Duane and I have been searching new recipes over the net and boy does that get you mouth watering. He has even dabbed in creating a pumpkin cheesecake from scratch. Not too bad I must say!

So a little house work, some reflection on how blessed we are and have so much to be thankful for, a few games of poker while the bird is cooking and some grub with family. Now I call that a good weekend!

Thanks for stopping in:)

Whether you want a supplemental income or a prosperous career,  this is the company for you to join. I hardly even think of this job as ‘work’ because it is such a pleasure to introduce others to this opportunity to protect their memories and preserve their family heritage.

When I am creating my own book – that’s work! When I tell a friend and show them my new Calendar – that’s work! When I meet with some friends and show them all the personalized products they will use to share with their families – that’s work! Its work – but it hardly seems like it!

And while our products are top-of-the-line, our business opportunity is really one of our greatest offerings. You can work from home while you help others to capture their stories and preserve them for their families!

Heritage Makers is NOT a “get-rich-quick” scheme. It is a real business! We are unique because our business is about strengthening families. If you are ready to make a difference, not just a living, if you are ready to leave a legacy, not just do a job, and if you want to experience the thrill of being in business for yourself but not by yourself, you’ve found the perfect answer: Heritage Makers

All I have to do is make my own book, card, scrap page, calendar or gorgeous gallery wrapped canvas and then show somebody! People go crazy and become excited to make one of their own! Yes! These Heritage Makers people have invented products that really DO sell themselves!

If I can earn money while helping myself and my friends learn the joy of preserving their family stories so can you!

Just carry one of your books and a business card in your purse and when someone wants to know what is new with you-show them! What a wonderful way to share what’s new and grow your business. Schedule your hours around your family and you kids. Work when you want to! It really is that great.
